Meet the team!

CCN is an Elder led church. As we have grown over the years, the Elders have invested in different members of the church to lead various ministries according to their respective gifts and callings. Each member of our Leadership Team is responsible for helping our church family grow and mature as Christians through our different programs, events and activities.

Our Leadership Team

Mick Ireson

G’day, my name’s Mick and in and around working as a medical doctor, I lead worship at Calvary Chapel Newcastle. My wife Kendall and I made Calvs our home church back in 2006 and have started and raised our family of four children here in the broader family of Calvs families. I’m a big believer in keeping church simple: we sit under the authority of God’s word, engage in authentic worship, and grow together in loving, honest fellowship. The key verse for our worship team is 1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” I have been so encouraged over the years to see how members of Calvs have applied this verse in service to one another. Please come along and say hello! I’d love to meet you, hear your story, and have you become a part of our family.

Shinko Levey

Hi, my name is Shinko. My husband and our three children have been a part of Calv’s since we moved here in 2012 from Japan, where we were involved in missionary work for 14 years.

In addition to serving on the Pastoral Team at Calv’s, I also have the wonderful opportunity to teach Scripture in some local schools. My heart is to see every child grow into their own loving, personal relationship with God through the truth of the Gospel, and I am blessed to be working alongside an amazing Pastoral Team and group of volunteers at CCN.

I’m very much looking forward to meeting you and your families. If you’d like to find out more about our children’s program, feel free to contact me anytime!

Brad Mosby

Hey! Brad here. Calv’s has been my home since late 2012. I grew up overseas on the mission field where I had Christian adults speaking into my life on a regular basis. Having mentors in my life from such a young age was hugely formative in helping me make my faith ‘my own.’ As a result, I’ve had a desire from a young age to help other young people in their journey of faith, that they might “reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13). God has blessed me with a job as a school teacher here in Newcastle, where I get to do that everyday.

I am passionate about mentoring, discipling, teaching and training our youth at Calv’s that they might see God’s plans and purposes for their lives come to fruition. My desire is to see these young people grow into men and women with a deep, solid, and genuine love for God and all people, who know the Scriptures and believe in confidence in the saving message of Jesus.
